Ministry Update: U Tawna (Myanmar)

U Tawna is a Christ-centered residential ministry in Yangon, Myanmar, providing safe housing, quality education, and spiritual formation for children from the most vulnerable circumstances in the country. U Tawna serves 39 children whose families face circumstances that make it impossible to keep them at home.

Director’s Update on Academic Year & Campus Life

“Our academic year began on the first Monday of June. We are now in our second week, and our 26 resident students (with more arriving soon) are settling into their new rhythms. Last Saturday, our Bible school and boarding students held a Sports Day. It was a joy to see students from such diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds building friendships and beginning the important process of community bonding.”

Director’s Update on the Impact of Solar Power

“On a very positive note, the new solar power and battery system is already a tremendous blessing. Beyond helping our staff with meal preparation, the 24-hour electricity has significantly improved student safety. One returning student shared how much peace of mind she has now that the hallways and outdoor bathrooms are well-lit at night, removing the fear she felt last year when navigating the building in the dark.
