Ministry Update: Vision for the Visually Challenged (India)

Vision for the Visually Challenged (VVC) is a Christ-centered organization that ministers to blind and visually impaired individuals in India. Its mission integrates evangelism, rehabilitation, education, family care, medical aid, and social welfare, all undergirded by a commitment to proclaim Christ and uplift those who live with limited or no sight. It oversees multiple field regions, serving communities through missionary staff, volunteers, and local fellowships.

VVC has planned and hosted several events over the past several months. In April, VVC hosted a medical camp, ministering to around 200 people. Later in the month, it hosted a missionary training to discuss the questions of how to evangelize for the first time and how to follow up with people. At an upcoming event in another community in July, volunteers and missionaries will be distributing 30 audio Bibles.

In addition to these outreaches, VVC hosts monthly follow-up meetings, with the goal of integrating people into local churches for ongoing discipleship and fellowship. In June, VVC hosted a fellowship meeting in one area and was expecting around 15 people to attend. In God’s good providence, 25 showed up instead! Another fellowship meeting in another community welcomed 20 visually challenged and 10 sighted people this month.

How to Pray for Vision for the Visually Challenged

  • Pray for the Lord to open doors for additional outreach programs, prepare hearts to hear and receive the gospel, and bring about genuine conversions and spiritual fruit.
  • Pray for the Lord to equip and embolden missionaries as they seek to bring the good news to their neighbors.
  • Pray for God’s grace and strength for the staff as they continue to serve tirelessly. Pray against burnout and for fresh motivation to carry on their important work despite the emotional and physical fatigue that comes with such a demanding ministry.
